Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4) is an inorganic compound, presenting as white crystals or powder. It is highly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is weakly acidic (pH 4.4-4.9). It is insoluble in ethanol and decomposes when heated above 400ºC. It is not only a highly efficient compound fertilizer of phosphorus and potassium, which can promote the flowering and fruiting of plants and enhance their stress resistance, but also widely used in agriculture. It can also be used as a food additive (leavening agent, buffer), industrial water treatment agent, flame retardant, and as a nonlinear optical crystal material in optical and laser technologies.
