DOP, chemically known as dioctyl phthalate or more precisely di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), is a widely used plasticizer (plasticizer). Its chemical formula is C6H4(COOC8H17)2, CAS number 117-81-7. It appears as a colorless or pale yellow oily liquid, odorless or with a slight smell, readily soluble in organic solvents but insoluble in water.

DOP is mainly applied in plastic products such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), including wires and cables, artificial leather, toys, medical equipment (such as infusion tubes), and floor materials, to enhance the flexibility and ductility of the materials.
