This oxide product is produced using the wet chemical precipitation method, resulting in a synthetic amorphous silica (SiO2). Unlike vapor-phase silica, it is manufactured through a low-energy water treatment process involving sodium silicate and mineral acid reactions, creating a porous, high-surface-area material with adjustable particle size and morphology. Its unique combination of reinforcing, thickening, and matting properties makes it indispensable in rubber, plastic, and specialty chemical applications. It is commonly used in the rubber industry for tire treads (replacing carbon black, reducing rolling resistance) and shoe sole materials, as well as in personal care products like toothpaste abrasives and paint matting agents. In the food and feed industry, it serves as an anti-caking agent (e.g., in powdered foods) and carrier. Additionally, it finds applications in agriculture as a pesticide slow-release carrier.
