Anhydrous calcium chloride
Anhydrous calcium chloride is a white or grayish-white inorganic salt solid, which is highly soluble in water and releases a large amount of heat. It has extremely strong hygroscopicity and is often used as a desiccant. It is hygroscopic and will gradually absorb moisture when exposed to air to form hydrates (such as calcium chloride dihydrate). Anhydrous calcium chloride has stable chemical properties and is widely used in industries such as dehumidification, snow melting, concrete setting promotion, food processing and chemical production. As it may corrode metals after absorbing moisture, it should be stored in a sealed container to prevent moisture.
Properties: Anhydrous calcium chloride is a white granular or powdered substance that is highly soluble in water and releases heat. It has an extremely strong hygroscopicity and can rapidly absorb moisture from the air and deliquesce. It has stable chemical properties, with a melting point of approximately 782° C. It is commonly used as a desiccant, de-icing agent and industrial antifreeze, and is also applied in the fields of food and building materials. It should be stored in a sealed and moisture-proof container.
